This is a memory from this one time when...no just kidding.

  1. I really love all the different textures that you have in this. From the robot's metallic surface to the worn wood, it helps make the piece more believable for me. I wish though that the figure was in a more dynamic pose, especially since he's mainly a silhouette. If he was positioned as if ready to draw his gun and start a fight I think it would help add to the scene's mood.

  3. I love the masterful display of atmospheric perspective, it really adds a lot to the painting, and sets the mood quite nicely. The only thing I wish were a bit different is the shadow behind the main figure. It gets very light directly behind the feet, which makes it seem as though he were floating a bit. I have noticed that shadows in the late afternoon usually tend to be the darkest near the figure.

  4. Wood texture looks great! I wish the ground was more slanted like in your original thumbnail. And if the mech's eye was glowing even more I think that would be cool. Hope there's a follow up illustration to show how the fight ends ;)

  5. I love this so much! Like they^^ said, the textures are awesome, I love the layout and color. I do feel that there could be a little more grounding and rendering on the figure in the foreground. Compared with the robot, his level of rendering feels a little out of place. Also a more dynamic pose like was said? Anyways, I love the style of the piece and I'm really excited to see how that transitions into your career as an illustrator!
